Short on time but want to get on the water for a short sea kayak trip? Then hire a sea kayak with family or a friend, for a maximum of 4 hours, and explore the inner Queen Charlotte Sound. Our rental includes a safety briefing and gear.

Sea Kayak Rental - One & Multi Day

Hire a sea kayak with a friend/s and explore the Queen Charlotte or Kenepuru Sound in a day or many days. There is 1500km of coastline to explore - bush-clad bays, coves and inlets and plenty of campsites.

1 Day Guided Sea Kayak - Queen Charlotte Sound

Within an hour’s paddling you can be in a beautiful wilderness area. Paddle from the picturesque Picton foreshore, across the harbour and into the Grove Arm of the Queen Charlotte Sound. Morning tea and lunch included in this great day out.

1 Day Guided Sea Kayak - Kenepuru Sound

The Kenepuru Sound is renowned for its turquoise waters and sandy beaches. This sea kayaking day trip is a great option for walkers on the Queen Charlotte Track who may be having a rest day at Portage Hotel.

1 Day Multi Adventure - Kayak & Hike or Bike

Join the guided sea kayak trip for the morning before heading off to Mistletoe Bay at the Head of Onahau Bay. Drop your kayak at the jetty and join the Queen Charlotte Track for a 12.5 km hike or mountain bike.

Xtra Large (21") MTB Rental - for 185-195cm (6'0-6'3) riders

Ride a section,of the Queen Charlotte Track - rated as one of NZ's best single track rides. WATER TRANSFERS and QCTLC PASS can be included with this option. If you are between 185-195cm (6'0"-6'3") tall, then this is your bike size.

Large (19") MTB Rental - for 175-185cm (5'8-6'0) riders

Ride a section,of the Queen Charlotte Track - rated as one of NZ's best single track rides. WATER TRANSFERS and QCTLC PASS can be included with this option. If you are between 175-185cm (5'8"-6'0") tall, then this is your bike size.

Medium (17") MTB Rental - for 165-175 (5'4-5'8) riders

Ride a section,of the Queen Charlotte Track - rated as one of NZ's best single track rides. WATER TRANSFERS and QCTLC PASS can be included with this option. If you are between 165-175cm (5'4"-5'8") tall, then this is your bike size.

Small (15") MTB Rental - for 150-165cm (4'1-5'4) riders

Ride a section,of the Queen Charlotte Track - rated as one of NZ's best single track rides. WATER TRANSFERS and QCTLC PASS can be included with this option. If you are between 150-165cm (4'1"-5'4") tall, then this is your bike size.

Half Day Guided Sea Kayak - Queen Charlotte Sound

Departing 8.30am and 12.30pm. A 3.5 hour paddle from Picton into the Grove Arm, returning by vehicle. Ensures that you see the best of the inner-Queen Charlotte on this half day trip. An ideal option if time is short.

Sit On Top Kayaks

Hire a sit on top for an hour or two and paddle the inner-harbour shoreline. Paddle out to Bob's Bay for a picnic. These kayaks are a great option for families with younger children as they can be paddled with an adult and a child easily.

Stand Up Paddle Board

Hire a Stand Up Paddle board from our base on the Picton waterfront and paddle the inner-harbour area, out to Bob's Bay. It is like walking on water! Easy for anyone to learn and a great way to get out on the water for an hour or two.

1 Day Mountain Bike Rides - Queen Charlotte Track

Ride a section of Queen Charlotte Track in a day - our packages include bike hire, water transfers and a QCT land pass if requred.
